Pas De Deux Redux
2023, 5min 35sec (silent)
Created to be included in a group exhibition at Central Saint Martins, this piece investigates the film and video archive as an inert body which contains, within its structure and content, the potential for movement. Through a reworking of Norman McLaren's 'Pas De Deux' (1968), the film attempts to initiate a secondary dance partnership between the static environment of the archive's 'body' and the archived material itself, in its return to motion via screening.
